Seamless Gutters

Seamless aluminum gutters combined with properly placed downspouts can help to keep the water away from your foundation and also save your landscaping.  And they’re very attractive.

We offer two gutter sizes, depending on the slope and size of your roof:

  • 5″ K-Style gutter (one foot of holds 1.2 gallons of water)
  • 6″ K-Style gutter (one foot of  holds 2.0 gallons of water)

We are happy to work with you to determine the size and color of gutters and downspouts that fit the requirements of your home or business.

The Lifetime Difference

Why choose Lifetime Gutters?  We’re the tri-state area’s gutter experts.  Here’s what sets us apart from the competition:

Proper Installation

We install gutters at the proper slope of 1” to 2” of slope for a 40 foot long gutter.  Too much slope is very unsightly and will actually reduce the holding capacity of the gutter.  A gutter with a 3½” to 4” slope has lost half of its holding capacity. In a heavy downpour the water will quickly run toward the low end and overflow due to an inability to drain fast enough.

We install gutters under the drip edge when possible, otherwise we recommend installation of aluminum flashing to keep the water from wicking back behind the gutter in order to prevent rotting and save you from costly home repair down the road.

Thickest Possible Aluminum Coil

Northeast Iowa and the surrounding tri-state area is a place of weather extremes (frigid winters and blazing summers).  In these conditions, improperly installed gutters can create a lot of problems.  For this reason we only use .032 aluminum gutter coil for both the 5” and 6” gutters.  This is the thickest aluminum that can be extruded into a seamless gutter and provides needed strength in harsh weather conditions.

Raytec Hidden Hangers

We use only Raytec hidden hangars in our gutter installations.  These hangars have proven to be far superior to the competition in pull tests.

The test showed that:

  • At 119 lbs. pull, 4 of the competitors’ hangars broke loose
  • At 140 lbs. pull, 3 more of the competitors’ hangars broke loose
  • At 230 lbs. pull, 4 more of the competitors’ hangars broke loose

But:

  • The Raytec Hangtite hidden hangar held on up to 297 pounds!

Some companies place the hangars up to 3 feet apart.  Our installers place the hangars every 20 inches on average.  By using the Raytec hangar and placing these hangars an average of 20 inches apart there is a far better chance that your gutter will stay put when Old Man Winter tries to overload it with ice and snow.
